Online sales for the controversial film The Interview have exceeded the profits from its limited theatrical release. The movie made just under $3 million from theatre goes, while pulling in over $15 million online, mainly through YouTube and Google Play. Yesterday afternoon the movie became available on iTunes in limited regions.

The plot of The Interview follows Dave Skylark (James Franco) and Aaron Rapoport (Seth Rogen) who run a celebrity tabloid show called “Skylark Tonight”. After discovering North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un is a huge fan of the show, the two manage to land an interview with him. As they get ready to travel to North Korea they are recruited by the CIA to assassinate the dictator. Things don’t go as planned and they must find some help in the unlikeliest of places.

This movie was just ridiculous. I didn’t mind it at first, the Eminem bit was funny, but by the end come on.. Same garbage produced by Hollywood a million times. Definitely no sort of threat… I don’t see why there was such a huge controversy made. If I didn’t know better I would say publicity stunt, but no way with so many big agencies involved.
