Several online sources (TheWrap, ComingSoon) are reporting that Claire Holt, best known for playing Rebekah on The Vampire Diaries, and later the same character on the show’s spin-off The Originals. is a potential lead for the upcoming CBS Supergirl series based on the DC Comic series by the same name.

Supergirl is being written and produced by The Flash and Arrow creator Greg Berlanti, his shows have been a success, so Supergirl will likely not disappoint. The show will focus on Kara Zor-El, Superman’s cousin, and her struggle as she starts using her superpowers after keeping them hidden for most of her Earth life.
