It will come as an absolute non-surprise to everyone that the highly successful Disney movie Frozen is getting a sequel. For those of you who might not know, Frozen took home more than $1.2 billion at the box office, and that’s not counting the hundreds of millions in music sales, on-demand sales, and merchandise. It also went on to win two Academy Awards, one for Best Animated Picture of the Year, and one for Best Original Song.
The sequel announcement was made Walt Disney Animation Studios this morning. Chief Creative Officer of Walt Diney and Pixar Animation Studios, John Lasseter, said the following:
“We enjoyed making ‘Frozen’ so much and being back in that world with those characters. Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck have come up with a great idea for a sequel and you will be hearing a lot more about it and we’re taking you back to Arendelle. We are so excited about that.”
No production details, or release date speculations have yet been revealed but we will keep you up to date as more information emerges.
