40 year-old country music superstar, Rayna James (played by American Horror Story’s Connie Britton), seems to be losing her shine. Once a best-selling artist, her record sales are hitting new lows and her shows aren’t selling out like they used to. Meanwhile, there’s a new up and coming singer in Nashville that seems to be the next huge star; Juliette (played by Hayden Panettiere) is gorgeous, young, rowdy, and raunchy, she has all the makings to be the next best thing. As Rayna begins losing her spotlight and Juliette begins to shine, their record label decides the best move would be to send the two on tour together. Rayna can;t stand the idea of being an opening act for some snobby girl, so an endless power struggle between the two fame thirsty ladies begins.
